Car Ownership Program
Hop4Kids is happy to announce our partnership with A&K Supreme Auto Body Shop to operate a local program to provide car ownership program to low-income families by offering below-market-rate used-cars or automobile repair in San Francisco.
Even where public transit is available, it may not be conducive to the “off-hour” shifts that many low-wage jobs require. Public transportation also can be problematic when a parent’s job and child care provider are located at some distance from each other.
Car ownership can be a solution to some of these transportation challenges. Research has shown that a parent with a car is more likely to be employed and to work more hours than a parent without a car. A reliable automobile can provide parents with access to a greater array of employment opportunities. Also, having access to a car can mitigate some of the scheduling complications that arise in child care arrangements.

At Hop4Kids, we believe any lasting change starts with, and is owned by, the communities in which we work. From building classroom, to improving education, to provide medical supplies and emergency funding support, we work side by side with different program of community.
Within each area, we apply a consistent approach: we empower the youngest and most marginalized in each community so they can achieve their full potential. The result is a development approach that improves the lives of community members for the longest period of time.
