Drive Forward Program is a program running in Bay Area only to help to cover the cost of transportation can often be an employment barrier for the low-income families. Get a free car for work, a job interview or affordable transportation for other needs. Hop4Kids can help low income families by giving away cars or car maintenance services for free or at a very low cost to qualified applicants to those in need.
Any car provided needs to used to help find a job or allow someone to keep an existing one. The free vehicles will not be for recreational purposes but rather for employment needs. Hop4Kids also contributes emergency funds for car repairs as well.
Requirement
The cars will go go to people who have lost their job and are looking for new employment but their car has died and they have nowhere to turn. Repairs tend to go to individuals who are working, but their income doesn’t allow them to pay for the repair on their own, so they are at risk of losing their job. Other clients may be self-sufficient single mothers trying to support a family on a minimum wage salary.

Donated vehicle will be inspected by a volunteer team of mechanics and other professionals. Hop4Kids can make minor repairs and clean up the vehicle before it is given away. Not only that, but Hop4Kids will process the title transfer, turn in your old plate for you, and even take the paperwork to the DMV. However, the family receiving the car may need to contribute towards some of those costs.

While we love to hear from you out there our phone staffing is minimal in order to keep charitable dollars for charitable program expenses other than the many people it would take to answer the numerous requests for assistance we receive each day.
Your completed application will be submitted for consideration to our Board of Directors, if assistance can be provided you will be contacted within 30 days.
Individuals and like minded Charitable Organizations.
Assistance to individuals is provided to those in need and unable to provide for themselves. You will need to show why you are physically unable to do so.
Recipients are normally individuals making positive steps forward in improving their own circumstances and generally NOT have contributed in any material way to the creation of those circumstances.
You will need to demonstrate both qualifications thoroughly before assistance is provided.
If you are currently on Government assistance of any kind gifts of property may very well cause your assistance to be either terminated for a period of time or affected in some other negative manner. Gifted property is considered “additional income”.
